One Million Moms bullies Urban Outfitters and the LGBT community!

Keywords: urban outfitters, one million moms, lgbt, bully

One Million Moms is a rapidly growing, loud mouthed anti-gay group which seems to have it out for not only the gay community, but for the fashion industry as well. Recently the group has had a bone to pick with JC Penny for having Ellen Degeneres as a spokeswoman. Their new target? Urban Outfitters. The April 2012 Urban Outfitters catalogue features the above picture on one of the pages and One Million Moms responded to this on their website as follows:

“The April 2012 catalog from Urban Outfitters has begun arriving in home mailboxes the last couple of days. On page two of this catalog is a picture of two women kissing in a face holding embrace! The ad and catalog are clearly geared toward teenagers. The content is offensive and inappropriate for a teen who is the company’s target customer.”

In my opinion Urban Outfitters is sending out a positive message to their teenage customers. Catalogues feature images of couples kissing all of the time, why should this be treated any different? There are constant pushes to reduce bullying in schools and to promote equality, and singling out the gay community as a target just creates more prejudice. I am sure will side with me on this one!
